Estimación del movimiento de flujo de savia en fustes y ramas de diferente grosor de Samanea saman Jacq

Abstract
Se evaluó el movimiento de flujo de savia de árboles maduros de Samanea saman en Cartago, Costa Rica. A cada individuo se le colocó un medidor de pulso térmico de savia en el fuste y en dos ramas de distinto grosor. Se obtuvieron flujos de 10 a 16 cm3cm2h-1 en fuste y 4 a 8 cm3cm2h-1 en ramas; encontrando una relación entre el grosor de rama y el movimiento de agua y acumulación del 32-45 % de agua en ramas con un diámetro de 7-9 cm.
